Size Guide
Finding your perfect fit
Getting the right fit is the most important part. A well-fitted harness should sit comfortably against your dog's body with no gaps, no rubbing and enough room for two fingers to slide underneath any strap.
Because oodles and other fluffy breeds carry a lot of coat volume, we size by chest girth — not weight. Weight can be misleading on a breed that looks much larger than they measure underneath all that fluff.
How to measure
What you'll need: A soft fabric tape measure. If you don't have one, a piece of string and a ruler works just as well.
Step one — chest girth (the most important measurement) Wrap the tape around the widest part of your dog's chest, just behind their front legs. This is the measurement we use to size every Leorah harness. Keep the tape snug but not tight — you should be able to slide two fingers underneath comfortably.
Step two — neck circumference Measure around the base of your dog's neck, just below where a collar would sit. This helps with the upper strap adjustment.
Step three — add for coat If your dog has a curly or wavy coat (cavoodles, spoodles, labradoodles and similar breeds), add 2–3 cm to your chest girth measurement. Their coat adds volume when the harness sits against it.
If you're between sizes — always size up. Our harnesses are fully adjustable at four points, so a size up gives you more room to dial in the perfect fit.

Important note for oodle owners
Oodles are notoriously tricky to size because their curly coats can add significant volume. A cavoodle that weighs 5 kg might measure very differently to another 5 kg cavoodle depending on coat type and grooming stage. Always measure, never guess — and always add 2–3 cm for coat volume before checking the size chart.
How it should fit
A correctly fitted Leorah harness should look and feel like this:
- The chest panel sits flat and centred on your dog's sternum, not twisted to one side
- There is no gaping or bunching at the sides
- Two fingers slide comfortably under every strap
- Your dog has full range of movement in their front legs — no restriction or lifting of the leg when walking
- The back D-ring sits centred on your dog's back, not pulled to one side
